Côte Vermeille, Southern France

Côte Vermeille
Just across the border in NE Spain is Cadaqués

The Fauvist painters Henri Matisse (1869-1954) and his younger colleague André Derain spent much time in Collioure, just 25 km (15 miles) South of Perpignan on the French Côte Vermeille (Vermillion Coast) because of the high intense blue sky and great natural light there.
I hope to visit this small fishing village early October 2014, to sample its famous anchovies and walk the Chemin du Fauvisme (Fauvism Trail).
