I love camping, but am too lazy to put up a tent. Besides my left arm is not in commision yet and needs more rest. This bed is quite comfortable, and a lot better than those bloody Lufthansa budget class contraptions, that is for sure.
Hotels in France appear to be much dearer (without breakfast) and of much lower standard than the ones in Germany. That is quite clear from the Lonely Planet Guide and my online research. Camping grounds in France are not cheap either, around € 15 - 25 per day I believe. But that will still leave me with € 20 extra to spend on food and wine !!
