Caión (pronounced "Cajon") is loacted on the coast, about 20 km West from La Coruna. The field work area for my geological studies is about 15 km South of Carballo. The A655 freeway (in red) did not excist in the 60s, but the (yellow) AC-552 did. The (white) road branching off from it to Caión was then a 10 km dirt road with numerous potholes, quite hazardous to drive in the dark.
