You are looking here at two great features of the beautiful old inner city of Freiburg :
        (1) there meticulously maintained richly decorated old buildings, and
        (2) these unique narrow (30cm, 1ft wide) channels with running water which run either through the center or along the side of
        (2) just about every inner city street. This latter feature gives a wonderfully fresh feel to the city.
