Declarer counts 8 sure winners : three in ♠, one in , and two each in and in ♣.
The 9th trick can come from an indirect finesse in , which has a 50% chance of success.
A much better option is to test a possible 3-2 split in Opponents ♣s. This has a 68% chance of success and Declarer must try this first.

There is no need for Declarer to hold up the first trick in . Opponents together only hold 7 diamonds.
Declarer holds two stoppers in the suit, which safeguards against North holding five s, provided Declarer tests the clubs before taking the finesse in .

After winning the first trick Declarer cashes his A♣, then leads a small ♣, ducking in Dummy. This shows that Opponents' clubs do split 3-2 and Declarer's contract is secure.
Later he tries the finesse for a possible overtrick, but that is not successful.
