The bidding clearly has indicated that some of the Declarer's tricks will
come through ruffing in Dummy. To reduce this capability a
trump lead in such cases is almost mandatory.
After winning the first trick, Declarer should not draw
trumps immediately, but instead play a ♦ to remove Dummy's singleton. North
should win the trick and (at trick 3) lead yet another trump. This
reduces Dummy's ruffing power to 2 tricks, which in this case is not
enough to defeat the contract.
Declarer wins the trump lead in his hand, then leads another ♦ ruffed in Dummy. He returns to his hand
via a ♣, then leads his last remaining ♦ for a second ruff in Dummy. Declarer
returns once more to his hand with another ♣, then draws North's
last remaining trump.
* Don't make
a regular lead (for example "mud", middle-up-down) when leading trumps.
You only provide useful information to the Declarer !
