Cautious approach
With a singleton on the Enemy suit (♦) and a solid 6-card ♣ suit (and North must have at least 2 clubs), South now must show his hand and bid 3♣. North should probably be cautious now and Pass.
This deal was played in our club at three tables. On one North was left in 1NT, on another West bid and made 2♦ and on the third South did bid 3♣, making 10 tricks.
North can also easily make 3NT, provided he wins the 1st trick (a ♥ or ♦ lead) and immediately leads the K♣ at trick 2, to chase out Opponent's A♣. After that has been achieved North can play out 9 tricks : 5 in clubs plus 4 in the two red suits.
