Tiles of Mijas

Portugal and Spain are famous for their beautiful painted tiles. In Mijas, a small village on the mountain slope above Fuengarola on the Spanish Costa del Sol there are good examples of this throughout the village.   Here shown from left to right a tile street sign, a map of the village and the name of a house "La Casa de mi Abuelo" ("The home of my Grandfather").
On the map the knob with church, bull ring and auditorium surrounded by the dark green park are on the south side of the village. Just to the NE (in the center of the next tile) is the small square with commemorative fountain where the weekly flower markets were held. Just North of the village (and above it on the mountain slope) the small Chapel where I climbed up to several times is also shown.
