The Martinshof Story
Piet Slegers - Sculptures 1950s

Above four of the six Slegers sculptures on the Martinshof lawn, crafted in cement over steel mesh and wire.
In white : "Striving for higher things" and "Mother and Child".
In charcoal black : "The Thinker" and barely visible left behind it "The Harvester".
Piet Slegers never gave names to his creations, but these were the nicknames we ourselves gave them. Due to a lack of space or insufficient funds to retrieve them we had these sculptures on our lawn for several year which we all enjoyed immensely.
