From left to right : me, Henk, Ap and Gerrit. They were the three eldest sons of my opposite neighbours, the farmer van der Mei. After school we played together most days and had a Club "Klein maar Dapper" (Small but Brave).
Gerrit and I were born only 6 months apart and have always remained the best of friends. We both were soccer goal keepers. As he went to the Christian primary school and I to the Public one we often stood at opposite sites of the soccer field in our goals at school matches.
