There are 85 oils plus close to 200 drawings of Vincent van Gogh in the museum. Famous paintings include the Postman, The Potato Eaters, The Good Samaritan, Corn Fields with Cypresses, Night Cafe in Arles, etc.
The raw energy radiating from these paintings is absolutely amazing, and I can not recall any other painter who has such a profound effect on the viewer. In comparison the Mondriaan paintings I saw again in The Hague look dull and out of date, although they had of course an enormous influence on art and architecture at the time.
