 Formerly called the Baudartius Lyceum
In the 1950s there were three types of Highschools through which you could gain access to a University. The HBS (Hogere Burger School) taught all subjects except Greek and Latin. There were two streams, one focussing on business and accounting (HBS-A), the other with a focus on mathematics and science (HBS-B).
On a Gymnasium all subjects were taught, including the compulsary subjects of Greek and Latin (essential for University entry to Law and Medicine), with separate α and β streams similar to those of the HBS.
On a Lyceum you had a choice of both the HBS and Gymnasium subject streams. I completed the HBS-B stream in 1955, then went to Leiden University to study Geology.
