This electrically assisted means of transport has almost completely replaced the formerly hugely popular brom fiets (petrol motor driven bicycle) in Holland. As a consequence the roads in Holland have become much less noisy. Note the battery underneath the luggage rack behind the saddle. In Germany too the E-bike is becoming increasingly popular. Prices for an E-bike start from just €1,000 ($1,400), the better models are about double that price.
