When Partner has opened with 1 in a suit and your RH opponent overcalled with a suit at the 1 or 2 level.
- Can you make a negative double bid after a NT bid ?
No. Both opening bid and overcall must be suit calls.
- How many points do you need for a negative double bid ?
6 points or more
- Does a negative double bid always shows the unbid major(s) ?
When both the opening bid and overcall are major suits the negative double shows both 4 card minors.
- When do you not make a negative double bid ?
When you have 11+ points and any 5+ card suit
