IBR 14.3 - Bidding after
Opponent's Interference
After these weak 2-Opening bids, it is not unusual for the
Opponents to interfere,
especially when the Responder has a weak hand too. To cope
with such situations
act as follow.
After a Double by the Opponent,
Responder makes the normal responses.
- For example :
- 2♠ - (DBL) - bid 3♣ = "Pass or correct" with :
♠ 6
♥ Q 9 4 2
♦ K J 9 8
♣ J 10 7 5
- 2♠ - (DBL) - bid 2NT = Strong enquiry with :
♠ K 8 6
♥ 4 2
♦ A K 9 8
♣ Q 10 7 5
After Opponent's Overcall
- With 0-11 HCP : Pass or make a "Pass or correct" bid
- For example :
- 2♠ - (3♣) - Pass with :
♠ 6 3
♥ Q 9 4 2
♦ K J 9 8
♣ J 10 7
- 2♥ - (2♠) - bid 3♣ = "Pass or correct" with :
♠ 8 6 4
♥ 2
♦ K J 9 8 5
♣ A 10 7 5
(Opener is unlikely to have 5 ♠s)
- With 12+ HCP : DBL = Strong enquiry
- For example :
- 2♠ - (3♣) - bid DBL = Strong enquiry with :
♠ K 8 6
♥ A Q 4 2
♦ K J 9 8
♣ 7 5
