2. Many creative activities, such as performing arts (dance, but also painting) and sports (athletics). In sport the meditation state is sometimes referred to as being in "the zone".

3. If it contributes to the required relaxed state for active meditation it is usually a good technique. If it does hinders such state it is not worth doing.

The saxophone is an acoustic 'open pipe' system. The resonator always contains half a wavelength.

The clarinet on the other hand is an acoustic 'closed pipe' system. The clarinet resonator contains only a quarter of a wavelength.

1. Two, the saxophone resonator and the body resonator.

2. The vibrations of the reed, in the saxophone and in the player's mouth are identical at all times.

1. Initially the saxophone resonator is in control - with an 'obedient' reed and the player's body resonator ('oral tract') trying to be in harmony with the instrument.

2. Eventually the body resonator is in firm control.
