Direct and Indirect finessing.
Alternate finesses in ♠ and .

Indirect fines = leading a low card from one hand towards a high card in the other, hoping to avoid being caught by Opponent's high card.
(In an Indirect finesse you need to return to the leading hand via another suit to repeat the finesse.)

Direct finesse = leading a high card from one hand towards a higher card in the other hoping to catch Opponent's high card.
You need at least 4 of the top 5-6 cars in a suit to execute a Direct finesse.   (In an Direct finesse you can immediately do the finesse again.)

Some finesses can be a mixture of both above types.
