In the Black Forest it is only a 3 minutes train ride to travel from Heaven (the village Himmelreich) to Hell ( Höllental : Hell Valley). When visiting Freiburg a train trip on the Höllentalbahn is an absolute must. It travels through the Höllental, across a early 20th century stonemason bridge. It then follows the Löffeltal to Hinterzarten and then on along the shores of both Titisee and Schluchsee : marvelous views all the way. The Schluchsee Railway station has a good Bistro where the Wienerle mit Kartoffelsalat are always on th menu. |
