On Fridays Babette sometimes goes to the specialist Japanese fish monger in Brisbane for some sashimi. He has the freshest and best quality fish, and, most importantly, knows how to cut it. Babette is wearing a necklace of the Martinshof Collection. They are unique one off artist designs (this one like most others by Maud Smit), hand made, during the early years of Atelier Martinshof (1949-60). As a small boy, every day after school, I watched Eweg our superb goldsmith, make just about every piece of the collection, icluding this one. (Close up photos later.)
