Crisanto was my very favourite head waiter on the Silver Shadow. He
commanded the rear port corner of the main dining room, and the Maitre d'h,
knowing this, always reserved a table for us in that section.
It was
wonderful to have Crisanto serving us with elegant efficiency, a great
smile and just the right amount of intimacy. A style all Philippino personal on board excelled in. Crisanto and I
became good friends.
Two or three tables for two were positioned next to
one another with sufficient room between them for a waiter or desert trolley
to pass through. This meant that you could strike up a conversation with the
couple next to your table but needed not feel obliged to do so.
