Brian Green's book "The Fabric of the Cosmos" (Penguin : ISBN-13: 978-0-141-01111-0) includes this possible scenario of a "multivese" in which new universes sprout from older ones. "As these other universes would likely be forever separate from ours," he writes (p.320) "it is hard to imagine how we would ever establish whether this multiverse picture is true."
