| 1. Make an overhand loop in the leader.

2. Pass the tag end through the lure or fly, then return the tag end back through (first under, then over) the original loop.

3. Start wrapping the tag end 3-5 times around the main line. Number of turns depending on line thickness.

4. Bend the tag end around and pass it through (first over, then under) the original loop. 
|
|
5. Lubricate the loop (with saliva), then tighten it. Cut the excess off the tag end.
